Before leaving the Pembertons behind us there is just one thought that comes to mind. When those two Pemberton brothers left the farm at Beauchamp Roding and won their way into the hearts of heiresses little did they know what sadness would befall their families with inherited lunacy and an obvious fear of continuing to breed that gene. It meant that the fortune left by Thomas Barnes in 1818 had brought some luxury and a lot of roses together with a great deal of misery and sadness.
