Ann Smith (62) was born in circa 1838 in White Roothing.
By 1841 she is being cared for at Kingstons Farm, High Roothing by George Willson, aged 65, who has a housekeeper, Elizabeth Petts and a domestic servant, Martha Coppin.
By 1851 she is being educated at a boarding school at 144 London Road, Braintree in Essex.
In 1861 she has returned home, still single, and living with her widowed mother, Emma, at KingstonŐs Farm, White Roothing.
Ann married William Taylor (63) in Ongar in 1869.
He was born in Little Hallingbury, near Bishops Stortford in 1841and in 1871 he was farming 60 acres with 4 men and 2 boys at Brook Farm, Felsted.
He later farmed at Felsted Place until his death in 1892.
He died before Ann and in 1901 she was living with her sister Jane – see below. AnnŐs death was registered in Dunmow in 1904.
They had three children:
