Florence Lucy Smith (162) was born in High Roding in Q2 1870 when the family was living at High Trees Farm.
In 1881 her address was given simply as Margaret Roothing where she was a schoolgirl.
At the age of 21 she was resident at Brick House Farm, Marks Hall Lane, Margaret Roothing, Hatfield Broad Oak, Essex but she has no occupation listed.
In 1901 she is at The Hall, Little Totham, Maldon, Essex and Florence is visiting her sister Jessie in 1911 at The Strange, Chipping Hill, Witham. Florence declares that she is living on private means.
In 1911 she was visiting Hugh Page and his family at the Grange in Witham.
She died, a spinster, on 21st November, 1936 while staying as a resident at the Ellisdene Nursing Home, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex although her home at that time was Hope Cottage, Frinton-on-Sea.
