Hesther Smith (55) was born in Takeley in 1812.

 

She was the youngest child of James and Ann Smith.

 

On 5th October, 1839 she married Charles Burrell (56) from Bocking, Braintree, Essex in Havering-atte-Bower. He was born in 1812. In 1841 he was a wine merchant.

In 1851 they were living at 44 Rayne Road, Bocking and had moved to 47 Rayne Road some ten years later.

 

Her husband, Charles, died on 25th December, 1866. He had been born in Bocking in 1812.

 

 

By 1851 he was a wine and spirit merchant and by 1861 had added Agent to Insurance Offices to his liquid interests.

In 1881 Hester is found as an annuitant and widow living at Albion Villa, Linden Grove, Camberwell, Surrey where she is shown as a lodger. She died at 62 Linden Grove on 20th January, 1885.
